I Wonder What Donald Trump Thinks...
She's at it again. Everybody's favorite annoying, loud-mouth talk show host, Rosie O'Donnell, is involved in yet another war of words. This time, it is between Rosie and the show American Idol. It seems that she is angry that Frenchie Davis was thrown off the show a few years ago for posing in lingerie, but Antonella Barba was kept around despite photographs of her half-naked, sitting on a toilet, and engaging in sexual activity (for the record, she denies it was her in the sex pics, her friends say it isn't her, and the producers believe it). Personally, I'm appalled by American Idol's decision. Let me explain.
Frenchie Davis and Antonella Barba both posed for risque photos, yet one was thrown off the show, and one was allowed to stay. A quick, superficial look would result in someone looking for the most obvious diffrences between the two: Race and Size. It's pretty obvious that American Idol favors thin women. Sure, a few heavier people make it on, but let's face it, don't you feel they are starting at a disadvantage? The "singers" on American Idol are not artists. They are media creations, plain and simple. As far as racism, I have more trouble believing this one. Sure it's possible, but with the diversity of contestants and former winners, I think it's highly unlikely.
So, what do we make of this whole situation? Who knows. What I do know is that I think there might be something to the whole weight argument, and I know that I am angry that the producers of American Idol have actually caused me to be in partial agreement with Rosie O'Donnell. I'm sorry Donald.
