I was just checking out Yahoo, and one of the headlines was a story about how Oprah Winfrey is dealing with the death of one of her dogs over a month ago.  Now, I know that people can become very attached to their pets, and I know that she is a $260 million per year celebrity, but really, the front page of Yahoo?  Soldiers are dying in Iraq, George W Bush and Dick Cheney are wreaking havoc, the Senate can't do much of anything on immigration, Iran moves closer to nuclear weapons, and their is a story about Gracie the dogon the front page of Yahoo.  Sure, you could say that the people running Yahoo are idiots, but they're just publishing what they feel people want to read.  Therefore, they must feel we're idiots.  Unfortunately, many of us are (you, not me).  So, do me a favor and read some serious news when you leave this blog.  It'll be good for the mind.
